Reviews - Nighthawks At The Diner

Review by David2nd July 2006

What a fantastic record! Even after just one listen Waits's unique literary genius is apparant. This is the perfect showcase of the spellbinding charisma that waits can posses. Songs like 'Better Off Without A Wife' are easily appreciated firstly, followed by the dense, convelouted detail of 'Eggs And Sausage' and 'Putnam County'. An AMAZING record for anyone with any appreciation of classic performance values and great music. 5 stars.

This album is the pinnacle of Waits' musical career. Also a rare glimpse at how funny this guy really is.
