Eric's FTP Site

User Guide
There is 2.2 gigabytes of Tom Waits related material (Bootleg MP3's, movies, pictures, text to include plays etc) on this FTP site for download/upload.

This is how it works;
  • You can log in using any standard FTP program.
  • Anonymous log-ins are not allowed (so I can track IP's).
  • Use 209.177.135.139 as the host name or site address (it reads differently on different software).
  • Log in name: tom (Must be lower case)
  • Password is: waits (Also Lower case)
You can then browse the files available to you and download/upload any and all the files you want.

If you want to upload some files, this is what you do;
  1. Send me an email ejth@transport.com telling me what you are uploading.
  2. Create a new folder (this is also called Make Directory) in the UPLOADS folder.
  3. Send your files to this folder. If you get halfway done with an upload and something happens just shoot me an email and I will delete the crappy file.
  4. I will review the uploaded files and move the entire folder to the appropriate folder (mp3, PICS, play, video, etc).
    If I find a file and don't know what it is or don't think it belongs on a Tom Waits FTP site it will be gone. I log each IP that enters the FTP site, so if something happens I can and will take action to find the person responsible.
  5. The files are now available for everyone to download at will.
Please note the following;
  • DO NOT post anything that you can buy on the open market. I am not interested in screwing Tom Waits out of any money. He writes and sings the song we love and should buy them as they are available.
  • DO NOT post anything not relate directly to Tom Waits. This means pictures of your kids, music by other artist, porn and whatever. I will delete it as I find it.
  • DO NOT post any files you have not first tested on your own machine for quality. I have been lax on this so far but the axe is going to fall on a bunch of crappy files soon.
  • DO NOT send any files that are not in their smallest possible format. This means if you can zip it to make it smaller, do it. If you can make a .wav into a .mp3, do it.
  • PLEASE keep the heaviest traffic to after 5pm PST (pacific standard time), this is L.A., San Francisco, Seattle, and Portland time. I work on this server all day and will shut down the FTP site if things get too slow. I don't like doing it but sometimes it is required.
