This evening the audience rocked more than on Friday I even think someone
besides me sang along to Innocent when you dream. There was no buzz this
night (maybe the clumsy guy had been replaced), and there was almost no
storytelling. Tom looked a bit small, but I managed to borrow a set of
binoculars from time to time - and for the whole of "Time"...
During Eyeball kid there were solos and Tom would stand with his arms
clutched inwards, feet stomping and then suddenly, violently throw one out
to point at smoky or Larry, who'd then take a solo while Tom'd sneak up and
throw confetti in their hair...
The stunningly beautiful Picture in a frame was added to the piano set along
with some of Cemetary polka. After doing a bit of "hahaha" Tom breaks it off
and says "Allright We're gonna do something else, and plays Lucky Day
instead. I think he forgot the Lyrics, and first I thought that this was the
reason he sang hahaha, but actually he sings something similar on the Don
Hynde support show (96?) - Ah, I don't know...
Raindogs was of course a blast to hear, but it would have been nice if a
ROAR had emerged from us guys, but maybe you roared? All stripped down was
another new one which I also enjoyed immensely. I asked my sister to close
her eyes and realize that this wasn't a recording, but the man himself. She
seemed pleased to have gone the second time also.
The highlight IMO was In the colloseum, which somehow seemed a lot stronger
live "In the colloSE'um, we call 'em as we SEE'em" I was yelling as I left
the theater.
As mentioned by others the lights actually came on after first encore, but
for the last 3-4 songs that whole theater was standing up clapping, stomping
and shouting, so of course we didn't stop, and the sound made when the light
dimmed again was chilling...I must say that audiencewise this was the most
rockin of 'em all. But of course one encore would never have been enough, so
either it was a trick from Tom, or maybe an error to turn on the lights -
let's not fool ourselves...
Again I found myself jumping up and down in my seat, managed to shout
"WHEW" at the right point in "I don't wanna grow up", and when the lights
were on I looked over at Rasmus and Jakob who were dancing like madmen.
